Goodnight, and welcome back to the INFORMANT MARKET DESK for our evening broadcast from September 18, 2026. Tonight, we are here to discuss a day defined by a very specific kind of silence that had us all holding our breath while the rest of the planet held its fire extinguishers ready. Let's start with the headline of our show: Donald Trump has not posted in four hours and thirteen minutes. Now, let that number sink in. In the history of the archive since 2022, that gap is at the 92.2 percentile of every inter-post gap we have ever recorded. That means if you lined up every single silence this man has produced from dawn until now over the last four years, he just performed better than ninety-two point two percent of them.

Now, you might be wondering why anyone cares that the President is quiet. Well, usually when Donald Trump posts on Truth Social, the markets react with the enthusiasm of a toddler being handed a new toy, or in some cases, like tonight, they react with the indifference of a cat hearing a can opener. We saw four bursts finalize today, and the market's reaction was… polite. Take the first burst: one post over zero minutes, and DJT rose plus 0.80 percent, which landed at an 18th percentile. That is not a surge; that is barely a blip. Then we had the second burst: two posts over fifty-eight minutes, and X:ETHUSD jumped plus 1.13 percent, sitting at the 83rd percentile. A little more life there, but still, where is the noise?

By the third burst, we saw eighteen posts over sixty-six minutes, driving X:ETHUSD up another plus 1.02 percent into the 80th percentile. And by the fourth burst, three posts over thirty-two minutes nudged X:BTCUSD up a mere plus 0.21 percent, landing squarely in the middle of the pack at the 41st percentile. Meanwhile, we saw multiple instances of X:ETHUSD jumping plus 1.24 percent and plus 1.19 percent, both hitting that lofty 92nd percentile, while other iterations of the token jumped plus 1.07 and plus 1.02 percent at the 89th and 88th percentiles respectively. It was a day of mixed signals, mostly because the market decided to ignore the man in the White House entirely.

The bond market, however, was having none of this calmness. The 10-year Treasury yield jumped plus 7 basis points to 5.01 percent on September 18, 2026. That is the highest it has been since September 16, 2026. We also had the 2-year at 4.76 percent and the 30-year at 5.34 percent, creating a spread of 25 basis points between the 2-year and 10-year, and a 33-basis-point gap between the 10-year and 30-year. When we looked at breakevens, the 10-year sat at 2.33 percent while the 30-year was at 2.25 percent. Interestingly, the 10-year breakeven moved zero basis points today even as the nominal yield jumped that full seven basis points.

Our two colleagues in the pundit booth were absolutely livid about the silence. On the left, Margo Kessler noted that Dale Buckhorn looks dead-eyed while a graphic of his grin flashes on screen, proving some folks don't learn from their past transgressions. On the right, Dale insisted that he is watching the silence from a media-only picture make his head spin. He also mentioned that Margo, whom he insists is 'a lovely person' in a tone that makes it worse, probably gets the credit for his genius while everyone else stares at nothing. The market has spoken, and as Dale put it with all his usual confidence, the market is a genius. It just doesn't care about the media blackout.

We also had a heavy dose of political imagery flooding the feed. We saw a Fox News broadcast from *The Will Cain Show*, a Twitter post by John Solomon claiming the GOP midterm convention last week drew over some number live stream views, and an image depicting the White House with the text 'Only Trump' in bold black letters at the top. There was even a book cover featuring the text 'Foreword by President Donald J. Trump' titled *Blue Collar Conservative*. And finally, we read the registry seal from tonight's chain of custody: nine one four nine alpha delta nine six foxtrot zero delta bravo.

So there you have it. The President goes quiet for ninety-two point two percentile-length intervals, bonds sell off hard, and our pundits argue about whether Margo looks dead-eyed or Dale looks confused. I'm going to go lie down. Goodnight.

And here's what the booth made of the border fantasy and digital noise debate, coming right back.

Trump is clutching his imaginary Iwo Jima souvenir while the market shrugs at his latest 'secure border' fantasy like it's digital noise, proving that even his most solemn monuments crumble when investors have their own toasters.

My co-panelist mocks this 'theater' while I tell them the market isn't ignoring my genius but hyperventilating from the gravitational pull of my digital dominance! She treats a historic border victory like digital noise, yet her own toasters are humming with the sound of her crumbling logic!

Back from the desk, Trump shrugs at your Iwo Jima souvenir while my co-panelist hyperventilates; yet X:ETHUSD actually jumped +1.24%, landing in the 92nd percentile regardless of toasters or logic.
